An elderly woman and her disabled husband's back porch rotted down and their only way out in case of a fire or storm was through the front door. WOW gave $500 cash assistance to help with the cost of tearing down and rebuilding the porch and provided contact information for reliable handyman.
WOW provided $300 cash assistance to a woman who is the sole caregiver for her recently disabled son who has limited benefits ( working to get disability for son) and needed utility bill paid.
WOW provided $300 cash assistance to an 55 year old woman who needed utility bill paid due not working this summer. She is a crossing guard for a local school and got behind because she does not work during the summer.
WOW paid $262 cash toward a utility bill to keep lights on for woman with a Total bill due of over $500. The WOW donation allowed her utilities to stay on until her next paycheck.
WOW provided $250 in cash to a young Gadsden County mother of 5 school aged children running short with cash even with governmental assistance to help purchase back-to-school supplies ($50 for each child).
WOW provided $350 in cash assistance to 65+ year old woman living alone who had a major water leak underneath the 61 year old home that her deceased parents lived in. The plumber agreed to reduced price due to woman’s limited income and the severity of the leak.
